On my way back from lunch today, I was walking down the stairs when I heard a loud "thwack" and turned round to see that my security pass had come loose from its clip and fallen to the floor.
The stairwell is quiet, and sounds reverberate off the shiny, hard concrete surfaces, which has the effect of amplifying them.
If I had dropped my pass in the street outside the building, I might not have heard it hit the ground.

At the Test Management Forum meeting on Wednesday 26th October 2005, I introduced and facilitated a discussion of the “Skill Set of a Test Manager”. Inevitably, the potential for a Test Management Certification scheme was also discussed. The discussion was lively and covered a broad range of issues relating to skill-sets, the ISEB/ISTQB scheme – other attributes of good (and bad) Test Managers, assessment and recruitment.

It's hard to believe it but last month Open Source Testing reached the grand old age of 5 years! Celebrations have been rather muted however, as March was completely hectic for me, and I really should have done a birthday website banner with candles and fireworks but alas, time ran out!
In March 2003 I had no idea that my humble little site would grow into the popular resource that it has become. It's been fun and rewarding watching the site grow and seeing open source tools steadily becoming more accepted and embedded in the testing community.
