TestLink 1.8 beta has been released

The project achieved another milestone: the code of new main release is stabilized and ready for final testing. This release is not recommended for production using yet. All new features are working and the team are looking for testers to optimize the release into valuable product. Main new features: - external API for colaboration with other testing tools - event logger

BugNET 0.7.921.0 has been released

This is a new version if the 0.7 releases which fixes bugs and adds some new features. NOTE: This release fixes critical security bugs that could allow a registered user to elevate their priviledges and it is recommended that you upgrade your installation. Plus a range of fixes, improvements and new features are included.

SimpleTest 1.0.1 has been released

From the news release: Probably the longest point release in history, but it's here. This is the last version that supports PHP 4. Compared to the 1.0 version, there is much better PHP 5 support (all the way up to PHP 5.3) as long as E_STRICT is not enabled. The mocks support type hinting and interface mocking, the whole system properly supports exceptions and there are many small improvements to the web browser.

Multiple Dimensions of Performance Testing

Almost all experts agree that pre-deployment "waterfall" performance testing (which, with the record/playback method, confused by many as the performance testing itself) is not enough - too little, too late. Actually it is just one very specific way of performance testing - with a full spectrum of other approaches, which are used so infrequently (at least as intentional performance testing techniques) that I don't recall finding any good classification. Thinking about it, I see several dimensions of performance testing which, although definitely correlated, probably might be considered somewhat independently - of course, just a raw idea for the moment, just an effort to order thoughts a little.
