I am not unique in observing that your stereo-typical tester gets frustrated when people don't do things 'properly'... especially when they feel like the project manager is taking several short-cuts to disaster...

A long time ago, I let go of this... adopting a more pragmatic and agile perspective... I am not 'responsible' for someone elses choices - all I can do is keep them informed and leave it to them to manage the resulting issues... while I concentrate on being a successful tester... Eventually, you will want everyone working with a more constructive (and ideally agile) mind-set...

In the mean time... if your head is hurting from frustration, take 2 aspirin and go to bed early with a copy of Danny Faught's article, Testing, Zen, and Positive Forces... perhaps you'll see how rethinking your goals and expectations can lead to much better progress... perhaps not... but either way, I am sure you will feel better in the morning ;-)
