Wiki on software testing

general software testing | other online resources
[textile]
I've just stumbled on a new-to-me wiki on software testing.

At first glance it seems ok. Have any of you been involved with this site, or used it? and do you have recommendations for other, similar references?

Thanks

Julian

context-driven wiki

The context-driven wiki came down because I don't have the stomach for asynchronous, anonymous, communal writing. I don't see how conflict resolution or conflict avoidance works. My experience of conflict was that I kept having the urge to delete text that offended me, and then feeling bad about that. I sure felt bad when my own text was deleted or edited.

I think of Wikipedia as a sort of creeping evil. Who controls it? Whose secret agendas are we swallowing?

re wiki

I have not had any direct involvement with it yet but the guy behind it is not trying to push the product via the wiki, most of the conversations I have had over on QA forums with him have not even mentioned the tool.
Rather like our generous host he has a real passion for test and wants to see it improve for all, hence the site, rather alteristic in that respect rather like Antony our gracious host here :-)

Looks good...

[textile]I just took a look at it and it looks OK. Still plenty more to add but definitely a good start.

It seems to have been created by a company "henshuu" which sells a test case management product... despite this, it is a good idea for a resource... so long as it remains non-commercial and purely informative. It would help to give the impression of being purely informative if the sponsoring company didn't put their tool at the head of the list of test-tools and instead just listed them in alphabetical order.

I'd like to see an "about" link on the site (did I miss it?) that stated clearly who was behind the wiki and what their intentions were, making it totally transparent.

I'll keep an eye on this one and if it seems useful, I'll aggregate the new/changes RSS feed onto 'Reflections.

Other wiki resources... off the top of my head...
Anyway, there are several wiki based resources, some more specialised than others. "Ward Cunningham":http://c2.com has "tons of info about testing":http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Ac2.com%2Fcgi%2Fwiki+testing
on the "c2.com wiki":http://c2.com/cgi/wiki and "even more info on testing":http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=site%3Ac2.com+testing under the main site too.

There is also, of course, the "Wikipedia page on testing":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_testing

Sadly, the "context-driven-school wiki":http://www.context-driven-testing.com/wiki/ doesn't seem to be available anymore. (anyone know what happened to that? James?)
