I just noticed this article you mentioned- it looks very interesting.
I recently came across some other back issues of this same magazine:

“Web load test planning”
“Trade secrets from a web testing expert”
“Web page response time 101”

I have found they are good quality, and thought provoking.

When I have time I will post an article I wrote as a follow-up with some thoughts of my own on these papers.
