Conference for the Association of Software Testing
July 9 - 11, 2007
Meydenbauer Center, Bellevue, WA
CALL FOR PAPERS
Scope
CAST 2007 is now accepting papers that offer insight and understanding about software testing. The topics of the papers should be relevant to the conference theme: Testing Techniques: Innovations and Applications. (Special consideration will be given if your paper or experience report includes lessons learned from an important failure.)
Both academic research papers and industry experience reports are welcome. Whether you're experimenting with testing theory or engaging in a testing practice, the focus of CAST is to provide an exchange of ideas between industry and academia.
CAST 2007 has been designed as forum to stimulate discussions leading to innovation in the software testing community. As such, papers and experience reports accepted by the Program Committee may be challenged, debated, and discussed. One distinguishing feature of this conference is that significant interaction among presenters and attendees is encouraged and facilitated by building flexibility into the schedule so that topics generating high energy can be explored more deeply without adversely disrupting the course of conference events.
Another distinguishing feature of CAST 2007 is that paper and presentation acceptance will not be biased toward individuals who have a history of professional speaking. It is the program committee's intention to provide an opportunity for practitioners and scholars who may have limited speaking experience but whose ideas are unique, fresh, and timely in the field of software testing.
The conference is for those who want to discuss and debate testing topics. Trained facilitators will ensure that discussion sessions are appropriately structured and productive. Discussion sessions will have a recorder, and transcripts or summaries of the discussions will be made available to participants after the conference.
