Huh? “E.T., Context, Scripted Testing, Schools/Clubs Harmony”? “Jim Pensyl’s Trouble in the Testing Schoolyard”? Oy!

Huh? “E.T., Context, Scripted Testing, Schools/Clubs Harmony”? “Jim Pensyl’s Trouble in the Testing Schoolyard”? Oy!

A mess has been building at SQAforums. SQAforums is often a pretty harsh place, which is why I rarely visit, and why I am very careful about how involved I let myself get in its threads. Unfortunately, this one has insisted on dragging me in. Here's my response. With luck (and self-discipline), it will be the only one necessary.

Harmony

Thank you for stating your position Dr. Kaner. The E.T. exercise invitations still stand.

The contract behind that exercise is underway. It will mean many computing industry jobs for years to come. I understand that my excitement for such a huge program is not necessarily excitement shared. Anyway, does your curricula include ongoing projects? Is this a candidate?

This multi-project program because of its scope and duration seems to represent perfect opportunities for testing refinements. If those refinements can save us tax $$, we all stand to benefit in that respect.

If you have the time and other candidate exercises appropriate for online, please do offer. I would be happy to participate and learn more about E.T. beyond what is documented at SQAForums.

Regarding the "bulletproof" statement, I committed to the statement owner that I would not publicly reveal the person's name. I stand by that.

Regarding my pseudo name, that of course is my choice. With the exception of two emails to admin here and Karen, my emails do go out with my name. I retain the right to blog as JakeBrake. My blog name and SQAF handle change are consistent with moving to the country where jakebraking is frequent. The only piece missing from my blog with respect to my handle is a ".wav" clip of the sound. I like my handle and will keep it.

My apologies to Karen stand. I committed a wrong and apologized.

Perhaps a better venue for such an exercise exists??

Meet you and James in a cafe and compare notes? I would be happy to do that.

Could we all do better with posting? Yes.

Regards
-Jim aka JakeBrake
