I'll be giving this presentation at the Agile Approaches for Delivering Business Value conference on 13th February 2008 Novotel Hammersmith, London.
The conference runs over the 12th and 13th of Februaray 2008. See the full programme for more information.
Abstract:
Fit for the future: The future of Agile Acceptance Test Tools
In October 2007, several members of the community gathered in Portland, Oregon, for a workshop to establish a vision and set direction for the next generation of Agile Acceptance Test Driven Development Tools. Organised by Jennitta Andrew and facilitated by Elisabeth Hendrickson, the group consisted of 22 well known (and lesser known) members of the Agile Community, including Ward Cunningham, Brian Marick, Jim Shore, many others and the presenter - Antony Marcano. This session explored the strengths and weaknesses of current tools, the most famous of which being FIT, the Framework for Integrated Tests. The experience in the room was used to create a vision for what the next generation Agile Acceptance Tools might be capable of.
In this talk Antony will share his perception of the workshop. Beginning with the role of Acceptance Test Tools in Agile Teams, he will share some of the history of the most well known tools and report on the outcome of that workshop. The audience will be given an insight into the ideas that were generated and will report on what has happened since. The audience will be encouraged to discuss these ideas, suggest some of their own and get involved via the online mailing list.
