Brazil and Uruguay and Conferences, Oh my!

events | general software testing | industry recognition | non-functional testing | performance testing

This morning I arrived in Brazil. For the next 2 weeks I’ll be doing some consulting, some training, and speaking at 3 conferences spanning Brazil and Uruguay.

The first is Performance Summit 2008 hosted by Dell Brazil. The local organization team, including my friends and top-notch performance testers Carlos Panato and Walter Munstock, have already gone well out of their way to make me feel at home. Thanks guys!

Next week I’ll be in Uruguay (many thanks in advance to Gustavo Vázquez, another friend and top-notch performance tester, for helping to arrange this trip and agreeing to be my tour guide) for two conferences.

The first is the Americas Innovation Forum. This will be my first experience speaking at a conference that is not predominately focused on software. From the website:

FORUM’S PURPOSE

Promote Prosperity and Development Through Innovation

HOW?

Encouraging knowledge exchange amongst leading entrepreneurs, academics, government officers and business executives who see innovation as the key factor for the region’s social and economical development.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The Forum’s purpose is to gather leading entrepreneurs and business executives, academics and government officers from the Americas, who understand that innovation and value-added through knowledge are key factors for development. Around 1000 attendees from all the Americas are expected to participate in this event.

Finally, I’ll close out this trip speaking at a 3 day performance testing seminar in Uruguay that is part of a monthly series of seminars on software testing called Testing en la práctica (Roughly translated “Testing in Practice”) hosted by the Centro de Ensayos de Software

On top of being a busy couple of weeks, I’ll also be more or less out of regular email contact until I return on April 5.

I’m sure I’ll have more to report after the trip. In the mean time, please join me in hoping that I don’t wear out my translators!

I suscribe Carlos comment. It was a pleasure from us to have you here. This can be an excellent time to say: "Bring WOPR to South America!" :)
