LoadRunner Certification

Mercury LoadRunner | performance testing
I looked through the new LoadRunner certifications.

Accredited Integration Specialist in HP Performance Center v9. Two Prometric exams, $150 each.

Accredited Systems Engineer in HP Performance Center v9. Two exams, look somewhat similar to what Mercury had before, $750 each.

Then I looked into HP Certified Professional HP Virtual User Generator Software – HP0-M19 Exam Preparation Guide and found the following:

Sample Exam Items:

Which programming language is used for VuGen scripts?
A. JAVA
B. HTML
C. ANSI-C (red)
D. VB Scripting
A. Visual Basic

Which section in a VuGen script is executed only one time, during Vuser initialization?
A. Login
B. Action
C. vuser_init (red)
D. vuser_end

You want VuGen to not generate any lr_think_time functions in your script. What can be
modified to accomplish this?
A. Modify the Run-time Settings and select Ignore think time.
B. Modify the Run-time Settings and select to Multiply recorded think time by 0.
C. Modify the Recording Options and deselect the Generate think time greater
than threshold. (red)
D. Modify the Recording Options and deselect the Generate fixed think time
after end transaction.

If we assume that the correct answers are in red (just put the word red - wasn't able to figure out if we can change color here), I’d say that two of them, to say politically correct, are ambiguous.

Question 1. According documentation, we can create scripts in VUGen in C, Java, Visual Basic, VBScript, JavaScript. So I’d say that A, C, D, and second A (???) are correct. Or –ing in the end of D makes it incorrect?

Question 3. I guess C and D somewhat right – depending on what you have selected. I, for example, use the “Generate fixed think time after end transaction” option – so for me option D would be correct.

Am I missing something?

LR Certification exams

Having sat the rather tricky M.I. CPC exam a few years, the 1 that cost £1200 to take, was 8 hours long and had a pass mark of 80%. (i.e. you had to get 80% to pass it), I recall that this was 1 of the oddities of the multi-choice section. One or more of the answers could be correct, or none of them!

I hope that H.P. will improve this for the future, although the above example doesn't demonstrate this. At best this test would show that the candidate had recently read the VUGEN manual and can remember what they read.
