Just the other day I had a call from a market analyst to discuss my opinions about market valuation and trends in the performance testing tool vendor market, and once again, we discussed the viability of open source options. The consensus across the market, that I agree with, is that open source is never going to unseat any financial viable vendors for one reason... marketing.

And just to make matters worse, there is SO MUCH untapped market share already out there that small vendors and open source solutions can have huge success without displacing a single dollar currently going to the "mega-vendors".

Very, very interesting to ponder.
